Schiller stood in the Gotham Police Department Director's office. Gordon set down the large stack of documents in his hands, fished out a hard drive from the other side of the desk, and handed it to Schiller.
"The surveillance footage you wanted is on there. But we don't have the manpower to sort through it. Watching everything at normal speed would take over three months. Are you sure you want to handle it yourself?"
"Has any of it been deleted?"
"Don't worry. Gotham's surveillance system has been upgraded. Even if someone has authorization to alter footage, the modification records get sent to a virtual server. They couldn't have guarded against that without knowing it existed. The server records show no modifications."
Schiller took the hard drive and left, getting into his car and calling Victor on his phone.
"I've got the surveillance footage. Are you and Nora in the office now? All right, I'll be there right away."
Schiller returned to Gotham University with the hard drive and found Mr. and Mrs. Fris waiting in Victor's office.
Schiller handed over the hard drive and said, "I'll leave this to you. Contact me immediately if you find anything unusual. Oh, and make a copy for me. I still need to make a trip to the Principal's office."
Victor nodded. "No problem. I'm worried they may have more advanced transportation, so we might not find anything unusual in highway surveillance footage. But I'll examine it as closely as I can."
"That isn't a problem. If we really can't find anything unusual, then we can confirm that they do have more advanced transportation and stop wasting time on the roads."
