Zod put on an interested expression, walked over, and said, "Can you fish in this lake?"

The other man glanced at him, paying particular attention to his clothing, then nodded. "You can, but only single-person, single-rod lure fishing."

"How's the fishing?" Zod quickly added, "I just moved into Full Moon Street Community next door. I used to fish a lot back home. I didn't expect there to be a fishing spot this close..."

"Ah, yes, I haven't been here long myself." The man Ron was impersonating said, "I really got lucky. I arrived just in time for the park to open for fishing and for the new investment project..."

Zod's heart stirred. "A new investment project? At a time like this, what project could possibly be worth investing in?"

Ron pretended he had let something slip and quickly waved his hands. "If you want to fish, you can fish here. Don't ask about anything else. It's not my place to say too much."

Zod was not about to let him off so easily. He took a cigar from his case and offered it to him. "To be honest, I'm from Metropolis too. The economy's been rough, so I came here looking for opportunities. I've got a whole family to support. It hasn't been easy."

Ron immediately acted as though those words had struck a chord, putting on a sigh as well. "Who isn't in the same boat? Business was going great in Keystone City before the Great Depression hit. I could barely afford to raise my kids, so I had no choice but to come to the big city looking for opportunities."
