In the pitch-black truck bed, the three of them fell silent for a moment.

Schiller looked down at the Alarm Clock in his hand. It was a miniature alarm clock no bigger than his palm, with a gleaming silver casing. Though it had the two little bells and central hammer of an old-fashioned alarm clock, those were only decorations. Its ring was electronic.

Schiller gently pressed the button on the Alarm Clock.

"Ring-ring-ring!"

Injustice Superman instinctively jolted and could not help glaring furiously at Schiller. But he did not actually feel much anger. Ever since he had agreed to Charles's request and sealed away his emotions, he had rarely experienced intense feelings.

What replaced them was a sense of emptiness and irritation.

"What is that?" Injustice Batman asked, as though he already knew.

"You probably do not want me to answer, 'It's an alarm clock.' But in truth, it is indeed an alarm clock." Schiller seemed to be speaking in circles, but Injustice Batman understood what he meant.

"What is my Alarm Clock?" Injustice Batman asked.

"If you are willing to let me visit your Dream, perhaps I can answer that question. But not now," Schiller answered honestly.

Injustice Superman could not understand the cryptic exchange between them.

Schiller held the Alarm Clock before his eyes, but what he saw was not the clock itself. It was countless emotional threads tangled together. It was an exceedingly complex mental structure.

Everyone had their own psychological weaknesses.

Psychological weaknesses could be innate or acquired. Some people were born with unstable mental states. If they did not receive proper guidance and treatment later, those fragile parts would remain with them for life.
