The other three returned to the carriage. The engine roared more violently than ever, each tremor seeming to pound against their hearts, filling them with an inexplicable sense of suffocation and tension.

Schiller felt the vehicle start moving forward. It was relatively steady at first, but soon, the intense sensation of weightlessness left everyone speechless.

It was not like bungee jumping or riding a roller coaster. It felt more like leaping from the top of a building in a dream—helpless, unsupported, able to feel nothing but an endless fall.

Bang!

The vehicle suddenly jolted as though it had struck something. But Jack clearly had no intention of stopping.

Two more impacts followed in quick succession. Schiller had no choice but to grab the handle beside the door. He vaguely heard Jack curse, but it quickly fell silent again.

Holding the door with one hand, Schiller considered the situation outside.

Hal's mental strength was far too high. The shallow layers of his dream had to be terrifyingly chaotic. All his negative emotions would take the form of monsters and wreak havoc here without restraint.
