Batman had not even had time to get angry at Victor's attitude before an even bigger problem appeared before him.
It was no longer just the Task Force members present. The ones who had rescued the hostages were ordinary police officers, and their tolerance was nowhere near as high as that bunch of Demons and freaks.
The shark monster in front of them had just swallowed a living person whole. What police officer had ever seen anything like that?!
The police officers who had originally been getting along peacefully with the Task Force instantly turned their guns around. They quickly retreated, formed combat formations in small groups, raised riot shields in front, kept their guns behind them, and aimed at Shark King.
The rescued hostages were terrified as well. They screamed and ran back, only for their legs to give out and send them tumbling over one another.
Shark King was somewhat bewildered. His intelligence was indeed low, but he was highly sensitive to emotions. He could sense hostility from the people aiming guns at him, but he did not know why.
Unlike Killer Croc, he had never lived in normal human society. His way of life was no different from living in the ocean. When he ate fish in the ocean, did he have to ask the fish for permission?
To him, people were not much different from fish. He ate when he was hungry. What was wrong with that?
Shark King did not understand why these people were directing hostility at him. He did not do anything either, merely standing there and scratching his head.
He was instinctively expressing confusion, but the police did not know that. When they saw the shark monster raise an arm, they thought he was about to fight back and immediately opened fire.
