Clark found it amusing, but remembering the plan Bruce had told him about earlier, he patiently said, "Actually, I haven't met many Wonder Women from other universes. Most of them were pretty similar to Diana. I'm a little curious, though—Superman and Batman in your universe have fallen out. Has that changed you at all?"
"Of course. It caused me irreparable harm as well." Wonder Woman sighed, turned around, and leaned against the windowsill. "They were both my good friends. If there's anyone who least wanted to see them like this, it would be me."
"Yes, I completely understand. You must have been heartbroken. Sometimes when Bruce and I argue, before anything has even happened between us, Diana gets terribly anxious. Sometimes we think she might be a little overly anxious. What do you think?"
"I don't think anyone has the right to meddle in your relationship." Wonder Woman cleared her throat. "What happens between the two of you shouldn't be judged by outsiders. If she took it upon herself to do that, then she was being rather tactless."
"Maybe she was just too kind," Clark said. "She's so much older than us, so she must have seen far more than we have. Sometimes, you have to admit there are benefits to listening to your elders."
"Do you mean... do you mean the Wonder Woman in your universe seemed very old-fashioned?"
"She was far more mature than us." Clark put on a reminiscing expression and smiled. "A lot of the time, she reminded me of my mother. Of course, I absolutely don't mean she's old. She's a beautiful lady, and a very respectable one."
Wonder Woman's expression gradually turned cold. She clearly did not realize it herself, while Clark merely laughed inwardly.
He was not angry. He only found the Wonder
