Later, Schiller returned to New York. While having dinner, he received the audition footage sent over by the production crew.

Schiller rarely saw himself on camera. He generally did not watch videos strangers filmed of him, while the videos he shot himself naturally did not include him. Sometimes, he was quite curious about how he looked through a lens.

But movie cameras were obviously completely different from short-video cameras. Most people looked utterly ordinary in short videos, and even many actors looked vastly different when filming short clips than they did in films. The atmosphere was different, for one thing, and the distortion produced by the two kinds of cameras was different as well.

Schiller was amazed to find that he looked like an entirely different person in a movie shot.

He somewhat understood why Chris had wanted the three protagonists to misunderstand him. It was not really the children's fault for being biased; under a movie camera, his aura was simply too distinctive.

During the audition, the school infirmary scene had been built in a studio. Schiller had thought it looked fairly ordinary at the time, but the lighting during filming had actually been meticulously adjusted and designed, and lighting had an enormous effect on a person's appearance.

The three children were rather young, their baby fat had not yet faded, and the details of their performances were not as refined as adults'. Therefore, in order to highlight their expressions, the camera lighting was designed primarily around defining their facial features. It was perfect for children, making their features look highly sculpted and their expressions and mannerisms clearly visible, giving the audience a stronger sense of immersion.
