The lights in the corridor went out one after another. The brothers' backs were almost instantly swallowed by darkness. In the dark, every faint sound was infinitely amplified. Danny's slightly hurried breathing betrayed his tension. Johnny also hunched forward slightly, flames nearly burning in his eyes.
The ornate words "Alarming Doom" appeared on the screen. Eddie, sitting at the computer desk, let out a soft breath, leaned back, stretched his aching neck, and muttered, "Who would've thought Schiller had talent as a director? This mockumentary actually looks pretty convincing."
"Stop talking!" Venom shouted. "Hurry up and keep playing it! I want to see what happens next! What the hell is coming?!"
"Don't rush me. I need to fix the earlier part first." Eddie leaned forward again, staring carefully at the computer screen as he used video-editing software to adjust the title effect. He changed its originally abrupt appearance into a handwritten animation, accompanied by the scratchy sound of writing, creating a different kind of eerie, chilling atmosphere.
Then Eddie imported a new video file and placed it after the title card.
First came a long stretch of black screen, then a faint burst of static, followed by the sound of leather shoes stepping across a wooden floor, and then the click of a recorder being turned on.
