Schiller had heard about the grand spectacle of the Batmen touring the labs from Natasha. Those mad scientists became fierce, absorbed, and tireless the moment they started doing research. What was supposed to be a three-day visit somehow dragged on for half a month. They not only left the country, but went into outer space, and were even practically kidnapped by Magneto for a tour of the Andromeda galaxy, where they offered plenty of valuable suggestions for building the capital's floating islands.
Half a month was not actually that long. It was nowhere near enough time to produce any real results, at most enough to provide a few ideas. But the various factions were smart. Batman might not be able to visit often, but they could still exchange information through Battleworld, so they could simply shift their work online.
They could hire Batman for a particular research project, agree on payment, have Stark convert real-world supplies into Battleworld points, pay a deposit first, and settle the remainder once the research was complete.
Real-world currency could be exchanged for points, but it was a terrible deal. Energy and supplies, in other words cosmic mass, were far more cost-effective. After all, building those Battle World Instances consumed such things too. It was how Battleworld's founders raised funds.
Ever since humanity in this universe entered the interstellar age, resources had ceased to be a problem. There were no worthwhile advanced civilizations in the Milky Way Galaxy, and the Nine Realms were completely open. Humanity's extraction methods were not even that advanced yet; they could mine for hundreds of millions of years without making a dent.
To further their interstellar colonization, humanity also knew that the Three Great Empires might not swallow this quietly and could retaliate later. Recently, they had been stockpiling supplies,
