"Boss." Another agent knocked on the door and came in, holding a file. "The technical department's report shows no signs that Wayne Enterprises' network was ever breached. We can basically rule out a cyber intrusion. It's more likely someone acted offline."
"That makes the head of Information Security Department even more suspicious." Schiller lightly tapped the desk with his fingers. "It could also have been someone else at Wayne Enterprises. The department heads all have more or less some connection to Diamond Street. Every one of them is a suspect."
"But we can't arrest all of them." Another female agent folded her arms and frowned. "I'll investigate whether they've had any suspicious activity lately. But this kind of action is sensitive. We'd better get the President's approval first."
"We can't reach the President." The older agent seated in the front row adjusted his glasses. "About three hours ago, he declined all communications, and his tracker signal vanished too. According to Washington, this state will last at least twenty-four hours."
"Do it." Natasha said. "If anything goes wrong, I'll take full responsibility."
Everyone rose from their seats and prepared to get to work. Schiller and Natasha stayed behind until the end. Lowering his voice, Schiller said, "Special circumstances call for special measures. We need to inform the Justice League."
"Is it really that serious?" Natasha frowned even more deeply as she looked at Schiller. "Flirting with a Slavic female agent might damage his reputation a little, but it doesn't warrant intervention from the Justice League, does it?"
