He first let out a long sigh and complained about the inhuman torment he had endured in the mental realm. But his desire for victory quickly took over. Following the method Professor X had taught him, he slowly focused his attention and guided his divine power to form a shield around the outer layer of his mental realm.
The Main Universe Martian Hunter aboard the Green Lantern ship soon frowned. Hal looked at him and asked, "What's wrong?"
"The invasion is becoming more difficult," said the Main Universe Martian Hunter. His brow was tightly furrowed, as though he were checking something. After a while, he shook his head and said, "He's defending his mental realm with divine power. But that isn't his fighting style. Someone capable must be advising him."
"Professor X must have stepped in," Hal said. "But he could directly attack you and protect Thor that way. Why hasn't he done that?"
The Main Universe Martian Hunter considered it briefly before saying, "This is the better method. Only if Thor learns how to resist Mind Invasion can Professor X focus on attacking instead of defending when his power is needed at a critical moment."
"If he attacked with everything he had, what are your odds of stopping him?"
"None, actually." The Main Universe Martian Hunter shook his head again. "He specializes in psychic abilities. No one surpasses him in that field. More importantly, I suspect they have a psychic amplifier. It must be absurdly huge and extremely powerful. If it operated at full output, even Apokolips's shield might not hold."
