After Arkham Batman agreed to Dream Power Doctor Strange's decision, they began slowly sinking into the first dream. Since they had not decided on an order, no one knew whose nightmare this was. Then two gunshots rang out like thunder, jolting everyone awake.
As Schiller's vision gradually cleared, he immediately realized that this was Germany, and Germany during World War II. Now he knew who the third person on Doctor Strange's side was.
"Erik Lanscher," Schiller immediately said. "No, Marx Eisenhart, a Jewish boy about ten years old."
Arkham Batman paused. "He was captured?"
"Yes. He came from a German merchant family. His father was a World War I veteran, and he had a happy childhood. But after World War II broke out, his family was sent to the Warsaw Ghetto. They nearly escaped, but were later betrayed by an acquaintance. After being arrested again, all his relatives were buried in a mass grave. Only he managed to escape."
Schiller recounted Magneto's life as quickly as possible, but it was actually rather vague. Neither his exact birthplace nor when he escaped was known. The comics had not portrayed it in much detail; they only knew that something roughly like this had happened.
"Remember?" Jack snorted. "They save people, and we stop them from saving people. He saw that Batman was on our team, so he wants to morally blackmail us, right?"
Schiller thought the same thing. Batman would never help those people capture someone, but if they did not play the villain, were they supposed to just watch them rescue him?
"Who says stopping them from saving him means helping those people catch him? We can get there first and take Magneto somewhere else," Constantine said.
