Greed beckoned to the original Amazing Spider-Man, and he ran over. Greed gave him a few instructions, and he went back to call the others. Soon, the Avengers, the Justice League, and the Mutants arrived together. The group gathered in the office next door.

"How was it? How much did we sell?" Greed asked.

"We struck it rich, we struck it rich." Iron Man was the first to grin. "The intel on Darkseid sold for the highest price. And there was follow-up business too—Batman bought quite a bit of intel from us. And S.H.I.E.L.D. as well..."

The Justice League of Earth-1 seemed to have formed too, except they had no Batman, only Spider-Man. And clearly, they had not formed to fight criminals either. If they had to sum up their purpose in one phrase, it was this—flipping intelligence.

As the only Merged Universe formed from two universes, their side was truly a mishmash. Every superhero and supervillain from both universes could be found there. There was nothing they did not know.

The people from Old 616 were battle-hardened veterans. Earthbound villains, extraterrestrial villains, any notable villain—they knew them all. They knew every superhero inside out. They were Batman's greatest source of intelligence in this war.

As everyone knew, intelligence was the most important part of any scheme. Without it, it would have been difficult to devise plans involving unstable Mutants, destroying Cerebro, and assassinating Charles. After all, Batman's universe had no Mutants. He might have heard that Mutants were unstable, but exactly how unstable they were, and which unstable individuals could be exploited, all of that required intelligence. And the ones providing it were the Mutants of the Merged Universe.
