"Have you seen Schiller too?" Peter asked.
Bruce nodded. "Yes, but he comes and goes like a ghost. I have no idea what he's doing. He was the first among us to arrive, but he doesn't seem to want the evil spirit to notice him, so he's been hiding from it."
Peter knew more about Schiller than Bruce did, because Shadow Spider-Man had traveled through the Marvel Universe for years. Nick often paid him hefty sums to do dirty work, and the number of Three Great Empires higher-ups who had died by his hand was no fewer than three digits. He knew a great deal about all the major Marvel heroes. Of course, he didn't know the inside story and, like the other heroes, thought Schiller was a counterpart from another universe.
"Schiller is a professional. Under normal circumstances, he wouldn't be hiding passively unless being noticed by the evil spirit was even more terrifying."
"Would being discovered mean death?" Bruce guessed.
Peter shook his head. "Probably not. Schiller told me I'd already been discovered, but I haven't died. There may be more troublesome consequences, though. But that isn't important. We need to figure out what this world is."

"This town was controlled by Mormonism long ago. We found their scriptures in the church. Also, Kate and I suspect that some force hostile to Mormonism may have wiped out the people in town."
