"Peter? Why did you come back alone? Where's Kate?" Agent asked in confusion as he opened the door.
"She wanted to look around town, so I came to find you." Peter stood outside the room. "How's your brother?"
"Not very well. He's been running a fever."
"Can I go in and see him?"
"He doesn't like noise very much," Agent said. "You just left Kate by herself? She's pregnant, and she was just in a car accident. You should be taking good care of her."
"She isn't pregnant." Peter shook his head. "That was just an excuse for us to come back to this town. If we hadn't said she was pregnant, her aunt wouldn't have let us come."
Although Agent had known that already, he still looked astonished. "There are plenty of excuses for coming back. Why use that one? Her aunt isn't young anymore. This could really disappoint her. Isn't that a little cruel?"
"It wasn't entirely for that." Peter sighed. "Kate has been drowning in the grief of losing her daughter. Maybe this will make her feel a little better."
"Of course it won't. It'll just keep bringing up the thing that hurts her most, again and again." Agent sighed. "Enough of that. What did you come to see me for?"
"Nothing in particular. I heard you were British, that you'd traveled all over the world and seen a lot, so I wanted to have a chat."
Agent stepped out of the room and closed the door behind him. "Let's talk in the living room."
They went to the living room and sat down together. Once seated, Peter said, "Aunt Kane doesn't like me very much. I don't want to disturb her too much. How about we go out for a walk instead?"
"Sure." Agent stood up
