Although it was already winter, the temperature had risen somewhat after a heavy snowfall. But that was not good news, because sometimes rain was harder to endure than snow. That night, a cold rain fell over Metropolis. By the time Diana brought Clark back to her apartment, both of them were soaked to the skin. Even a demigod could feel the chill boring straight into her bones.

Diana shivered hard, rubbing her arms as she took a deep breath. She helped Clark onto the sofa first, then went into the bathroom to dry her hair and body. She did not even have time for a hot shower before coming back out, taking milk from the refrigerator, pouring it into a glass, and putting it in the microwave.

She could not be sure whether this powerful alien still possessed such a powerful physique after being injured. To prevent him from becoming hypothermic, Diana found him a thick blanket first, then gave him a cup of hot milk.

Then she returned to the bedroom, searching through things as she said, "I need to find a bedsheet to use as a temporary curtain for the living room. We can't let anyone find out you're here, or we might both get kicked out."

Clark was still very weak. Even wrapped in the blanket, he continued to shiver. He instinctively picked up the warm milk and tried to drink it, but his hand shook so badly that he choked after only one sip.

"Cough, cough, cough!" He coughed violently, and a sudden, inexplicable rage surged into his heart. He slammed the glass down on the table, spilling half the milk. When he pulled his hand back, he accidentally knocked the glass over. It hit the floor with a crisp crack.

"Oh my God, be gentler!"
