"Luthor Tower was searched?!" Clark sprang to his feet from his desk and stared at the editor-in-chief in disbelief. "Why???"
"Precisely because we don't know why, I'm sending you there! You've taken so many days off—you've slacked off enough already, haven't you?!" the Daily Planet's editor-in-chief snapped. "Get your ass to the scene and grab the headline! Now!"
Faced with the editor-in-chief's hostile glare, Clark did not dare say anything more. He hurriedly put on his coat, grabbed his camera, and ran out the door. Honestly, he had been right to take this job. Today, he could finally go watch the spectacle openly.
If there was anyone Clark hated most in this whole chain of events, it was Lex Luthor. Even though he already knew that the ancient Egypt artifact incident had all been orchestrated by Schiller, he still despised Luthor the most.
Whether Schiller had done it to swindle money or simply wanted to watch the world burn, at least he had a purpose—a selfish one. But what about Lex Luthor?
Clark simply could not understand why Luthor had targeted him. If the spaceship had fallen and smashed into Luthor Tower, that might have been a reason, but he had clearly cleaned up every fragment. Forget Luthor Tower—even the asphalt had not been scratched. What right did he have to come after him???
And kidnapping his mother right from the start—what kind of blood feud was that supposed to be? Clark had never done anything to offend him, yet he insisted on doing something so harmful to others and useless to himself. It was utterly nonsensical!
Still, on the way to the scene, Clark did not spend all his time gloating. After thinking it over, he decided Lex Luthor could not possibly be this incompetent.
If someone dared to
