The Kryptonian mothership was terrifyingly quiet. A corpse lay in the middle of the hall, a bloody hole gaping in its chest. His eyes remained wide open in death.

When everyone recovered from their weakness, they all turned to look at Zod. Zod had also collapsed onto the floor, his face filled with disbelief, as though he had no idea what he had done.

The atmosphere began to turn strange.

The female adjutant, the first to climb to her feet, said, "Return to the medical pods first. Move him into cold storage."
