With a splat, a pirate's head was severed. A strong man in armor stood atop the sea. Suddenly, spears shot from his hand, piercing several other pirates one after another. A sunken ship rose from beneath his feet. He steered it toward a nearby island.
Several tribesmen followed him ashore. The moment he left the water, the man's complexion grew even paler, and his hawk-like eyes continually swept the surroundings.
"Any movement in the south?" he asked.
"Nothing serious. The rule there is still fairly stable," a subordinate replied. "Before long, we'll be able to rule the entire Caribbean. That will help us gain the Seven Kings' trust."
The leader nodded. But then another subordinate said, "Several unfamiliar ships have arrived in the eastern waters recently. They look like they belong to that big country."
The man immediately stopped and turned around. "That big country? You mean the United States?"
"Yes. They seem to be their police, the kind specifically in charge of the ocean. They've been constantly patrolling the sea."
"Patrolling? What's out there?"
"Actually, there's nothing there, and nothing on the seabed either. But their search area is quite large. It seems they're looking for something."
"Send someone to find out what they're looking for." The man shifted his weapon to his other hand. "Those people who call themselves Americans are the most cunning and treacherous. They'd better not be trying to interfere with me."
After entering a tent on land, the man sat down. Soon, another subordinate came to report, "Your Highness, we captured a police officer. Would you like to see him?"
"Bring him in."
The officer was soaked through and trembling, looking terrified. The man sat there and asked in accented English, "What are you looking for?"
"I... I don't know..."
