Arthur was somewhat bewildered, and Mera did not understand either. Since Mera had been able to find this place, she naturally knew something about what had happened back then. But now, it seemed things were probably not that simple. This Tom, who had once been involved with the Atlantis princess, apparently did not know nothing.

They got back into the car, which drove all the way into town, heading farther and farther from the center. As a local, Arthur knew Seabrook better than anyone. He hesitated, then said, "Dad, are we going to Black Street? That place isn't very safe."

Mera turned to look at him. Arthur had not wanted to pay her any attention, but when he turned and saw her deep blue eyes, like seawater, he gave an awkward little cough and said, "This is one of the closest ports to Canada, so there are drug dealers and smugglers around. They all gather on Black Street. Locals usually don't go there."

As they spoke, the car stopped on a street near Black Street. The three got out, and Tom led them toward an alley. Before they reached the end, Arthur spotted a familiar figure—the gang boss they had just encountered in the bar.

"Why are you here?" The gang boss was clearly surprised. He looked them over, focusing on Arthur, then said, "Don't go any farther. That's Black Street in there. You aren't looking to cause them trouble, are you?"

Before Arthur could say anything, Tom spoke first. "I'm looking for Little Lient. You know that."

The gang boss froze for a moment, then sighed. "He's in there. Go on, but don't stay too long."
