Someone knocked on the apartment door. The dark-haired woman working at her desk looked up in surprise. She checked her watch. It was outside visiting hours, and the apartment's security would never let in an uninvited visitor. So who could it be?
She set down her pen and opened the door, only to find a row of people in black standing outside. The leader flashed his ID at her and said, "Hello, Ms. Carol Ferris. We need your cooperation in investigating a terrorist attack. Do you have a moment?"
The woman called Carol narrowed her eyes. Just as she was about to say something, the people in black barged into the apartment. She took a deep breath, realizing they had not come with good intentions.
"What do you want with me?"
"I told you, there was a terrorist attack..."
"Which one?"
"The Capitol Building was moved from Metropolis back to the District of Columbia. The perpetrator was a terrorist glowing green all over."
"You're saying moving the Capitol Building back to its original location counts as a terrorist attack?"
"Without the consent of every member of Congress, yes."
"What does that have to do with me?"
"Your boyfriend, Hal Jordan, is this mysterious terrorist. I need you to call him back now."
"Impossible. Get out of my house right now."
"It seems you still haven't understood the situation, ma'am. This isn't a negotiation." The man stepped closer to Carol and said, "Don't think you can use your usual tricks on us like you do with the police. You should know that we don't exist. You can't report us to anyone."
