The ambulances arrived as quickly as possible. Police, security teams, and the military swiftly cordoned off the scene, while countless reporters rushed over at the news, instantly packing the street to the brim.
Clark was quickly loaded into an ambulance, but this was originally the site of a massive car accident. Many vehicles had lost power and could not even be pushed aside, so the ambulance could not get out anytime soon.
Everyone did their best to evacuate the crowd, and tow trucks were hurrying over as well. But the Presidential Palace ultimately decided not to wait. They would first transfer the injured president to a helicopter, then fly him to the hospital.
The helicopter landed on the ground. Clark's stretcher was lifted back out of the ambulance and transferred into the helicopter.
The transfer process was somewhat chaotic. On one hand, Steel Body was rather dense, and Clark weighed more than an ordinary person, making him naturally harder to carry. On the other hand, the ground was slippery, making it difficult to walk. Over those few short meters, they stumbled along for quite a while and nearly dropped the stretcher.
Although Clark was conscious, he could still sense his surroundings. He listened intently to every sound around him, when he suddenly heard the faintest twang of a bowstring.
Clark pretended to struggle in pain and suddenly raised One Hand, trying to turn over. The already unsteady stretcher tipped to the other side, sending the people carrying it crashing to the ground as well.
But in the next instant, with a sharp whoosh, an arrowhead embedded itself in the ground nearby. The soldiers and police around them erupted in alarm, raising their guns and beginning a search. They quickly pinpointed the direction from which the arrow had come and immediately
