"Hiss—"
The intense pain from the wound made Clark suck in a sharp breath. Since he had rarely been injured, he had never been particularly tolerant of pain. Perhaps because the Power of Death was continuously invading it, this wound hurt exceptionally badly. The sharp pain seemed to strike directly at his brain, making Clark stagger as Steppenwolf's arm fell away.
Seizing the opportunity, Atlan fired a water arrow into the center of Clark's back. It did not break through Clark's skin, but it knocked him into the water. Dense Power of Death dragged him down into the Deep Sea.
Fortunately, Ron flashed to Clark's side at the critical moment and hauled him up with one hand. He turned to look at the wound on Clark's arm, and his expression immediately darkened. Judging by the state of the wound, the situation was far from encouraging.
The scratched area had turned completely black, and the flesh had begun to rot. If not for the magical power within Clark still holding it back, the Power of Death would have contaminated his entire arm in an instant.
Clark panted heavily, clearly in terrible condition. He looked at his arm as well, and upon seeing its miserable state, squeezed his eyes shut before saying, "Don't worry about me. Steppenwolf..."
Victor had already rushed over when Steppenwolf's arm fell off. But Atlan obviously was not going to let him retrieve it so easily. He raised towering waves around them, even blotting out the sky. With his vision obstructed, Victor had no choice but to spend energy activating Modification Mode. At last, he saw the Black Lantern ring about to fall into the sea.
They absolutely could not get the ring back, Victor thought. Otherwise, Steppenwolf would return before long. He had to be completely eliminated
