"Wait, why do you have time to come here again?" Victor finally caught on. "Weren't you supposed to be dealing with that mastermind hiding who-knows-where?"

"The mastermind has been watching me for a long time. That means no matter where I am, he'll find a way to locate me." Schiller stood by the door. "Which means I may be in danger, so it's safer to stay beside my sharp-shooting assistant."

"Fine. But this time is different. I need to concentrate, so you'd better keep your mouth shut."

"First time I've ever heard Watson telling Sherlock Holmes to shut up."

"Come on, there's no case for you to investigate here. Or do I need to ask Mrs. Brainiac to bring something over to stuff your mouth with?"

Victor seemed to be trying his best to make Schiller be quiet. In reality, though, the two of them chatted idly for over an hour. When he felt the time was about right, Schiller checked his watch and got up to leave.

"Why are you leaving again?" Victor asked. "Aren't you afraid he'll really come after you?"

"I set a trap for him. If I go back now, I should be able to see the results." Schiller gave a slight shrug and walked out without looking back.

When he returned to his office, he found an ice sculpture in front of the newly installed felt board. It was not Hugo Strange, of course. He was not that reckless. Schiller stepped closer for a look and found that it seemed to be an underclassman, still dressed in formalwear for Christmas ball rehearsals. The student looked unfamiliar, so he probably was not from the Psychology Department or the Physics Department.
