The crowd screamed instinctively and ran into nearby buildings for shelter. Yet the enormous body did not stop at the surface—it passed straight through it. Gray mist, like a needle, stabbed fiercely into the Earth's core. In that instant, the entire planet jolted in its orbit. Certain ancient and mysterious beings had finally awakened.

People were startled to discover specks of white light rising beneath their feet, like rain falling from the ground into the sky. The Black Death Emperor's power, which had already broken away from the Blood Tide and was preparing to withdraw from the universe, was also ensnared by vines formed from those white motes. Clearly, that momentary delay had cost him his best chance to leave.

To break free from the white light's entanglement, the Black Death Emperor exerted all his strength.
