In the guest room of the Mayor's Mansion, Bruce, Lex, and Clark were still dwelling on that Dream.
Their views on certain matters in that Dream could not exactly be called identical; they could only be called wildly different. As for their disagreement, it could not exactly be called seeking common ground while reserving differences; it could only be called coming to blows.
"Even if they were guilty, you couldn't use that method to destroy them. It was neither reasonable nor humane!" Clark said to Bruce in a very loud voice.
"I was only breaking the Dream." Bruce replied calmly.
"But weren't you afraid it wasn't a Dream? When you used those black waves to crash into the crowd, did you ever consider what you would do if it were real? Could you bring those dead people back to life?"
"Clark, is there something wrong with your brain?" Lex suddenly spoke up, his voice equally icy. "Those people voted unanimously to kill you after you saved them, and you still wanted to stop Bruce from killing them? Are you insane?"
"I wasn't trying to kill them. I don't kill." Bruce rebutted Lex. "I was highly certain that it was a Dream. Breaking it by force was the most efficient method. Otherwise, we'd all have been trapped there."
"Highly certain?" Clark snorted. "You dared do something like that without being completely certain, and you still had the nerve to call yourself a non-killer?"
"Because his brain works faster than yours." Lex turned to Clark again and said mercilessly, "What started this whole thing? Wasn't it you knocking me unconscious without thinking or investigating first?"
Clark suddenly fell silent. Then he looked into Lex's eyes and said, "On that point alone, you're right. This all did begin with my recklessness."
He turned
