Hal turned and looked at the bewildered Dick and Aisha in his arms. His first reaction was that, no matter what, these two children could not be called "old enough."

Dick did look a little older, but Aisha was completely just a child of a few years old. Hal curled his lip and looked at Alfred. "Dick is one thing, but Aisha..."

"Young ladies especially need to understand how to protect themselves. The earlier safety education begins, the better."

Hal was about to say something else when Alfred asked, "Do you intend to wait until one day, when she encounters some uncouth bastards at a banquet, runs back to the manor crying, and then has Master Wayne come out to deal with it?"

Following Alfred's description, Hal instinctively imagined the scene. He shuddered, then turned to Aisha and said, "Listen carefully and study hard. Try not to trouble your father all the time."

"All right, Young Master and young lady. I believe you have understood the lesson on erasing traces. Next, we will begin the practical portion..."

"Now, we need to move somewhere else, so all traces left in this room must be thoroughly removed. You may try it yourselves. If anything is lacking, I will fill in the gaps for you."

Ten minutes later, Benjamin, who had finally followed every tiny clue to the fifth floor, stood before the final room at the end of the corridor, looking somewhat lost.

He had checked every room here, yet he had not found a single trace. The clues had simply ended. The seasoned agent he had imagined seemed to have vanished into thin air.

All the clues on the fourth floor pointed to the fifth, including scuff marks on the floor by the stairs, traces on the handrail, and faint noises
