Batman and Superman stood in the central energy control room. He looked at the light sources on the wall and the shadows they formed, as if he were trying to deduce something.

"Batman, I only just remembered," Superman said, looking at him. "In the earlier stages, you spent a long time staring at the ceiling. What was up there?"

"Some symbols," Batman said. "After I discovered them, I observed the other rooms and found that there seemed to be similar symbols in places where the lighting was very dim."

"Symbols? How come I didn't see them?"

"They were all in the deepest shadows cast by the light," Batman said. "And it seemed they could only be seen from specific angles."

"What were they?"

"It's still unclear at the moment," Batman said. "But I think they may have something to do with a hidden plotline. Or perhaps it isn't a hidden plotline. That depends on whether we can actually find something here."

"Then what are we supposed to look for?" Superman asked.

"Anything. Anything unusual." Batman looked around. "Perhaps above, perhaps below. At the very least, there should be an entrance or exit. Perhaps... in the shadows."

Batman pointed toward the very center of the central energy control room, above the enormous energy hub device, then said, "Go up and take a look. Clark, see if there's anything there."

Clark nodded. He was still in decent shape, and he climbed up using both hands and feet. Once he reached the very top, he found that a brick was missing in the place where the shadows were thickest.

"There's a brick missing," he shouted down. "Should I reach in and try?"
