"What's going on? Why did they leave?" Black Widow leaned by the window, arms folded as she looked outside, and asked, "That guy in black was a pretty powerful mutant, right? Did he and Magneto fall out?"
Across from her, Hawkeye adjusted his bowstring without looking up. "Magneto falling out with anyone wouldn't be strange. Maybe that guy also decided there was no hope this time and ran off early."
"They really are a scattered mess." Black Widow sighed, wearing an expression that said she had known this would happen. She glanced at Hawkeye and said, "Why are you still wiping down your gear? There won't be a fight."
"You sure?" Hawkeye looked toward the wall behind Black Widow. While the two of them had been talking, there had been a constant din in the background, coming from the room next door.
"Tony Stark! We rushed to the royal court so urgently to prevent any changes to the plan, and now you're telling me you want to change the plan and steal the technology from Orchis Forge to build yourself armor?!"
"Why did you just not understand? If we can't deal with that Iron Man from the Central Universe, every plan we've made is useless!"
"You're targeting him like this because he made you make a complete fool of yourself. In reality, it's not as if we have no way to deal with him, and the mutants might not necessarily stand with him! You just want to beat him!"
"You've really lost it, Steve. If the mutants have to choose a side, they'll definitely choose the stronger one, won't they? If we can't show that we're more valuable than that Iron Man, why should they stand with us?"
