Greed thought it over, then first put 20 Chips on Superman. Though never running into Batman might cost him money, if they did meet, Superman was almost guaranteed to take a hit. Even with Superman's superpowers, he would have a hard time outplaying Arkham Batman. This game was still more about wits than strength.
Arkham Batman went up to the fifth floor. This area did not belong to the casino; it was the staff offices. Superman had probably found that safe here, but he probably had not gone downstairs. Arkham Batman knew Clark. He would have wanted to search for more up here.
Following the reddish-brown carpet deeper inside, Arkham Batman heard sounds from the room at the very end, as if someone was rummaging through cabinets and drawers. He stopped, but did not hurry to open the door. Last time, that Heat Vision had almost blasted him into the wall so hard he would not have been able to peel himself off. If he got hit with Freeze Breath this time, he would really get a taste of what it felt like to be a Metropolis villain.
Arkham Batman turned his head and glanced inside. Superman had his back to the door, rummaging through a filing cabinet. Arkham Batman waited briefly, then, just as Superman found something and was examining it, strode in quickly and slammed a punch into the side of Superman's neck.
Superman staggered and nearly fell to the floor, then turned his head and fired a burst of Heat Vision. But this time Arkham Batman was prepared. He sidestepped it and was about to throw another punch. Only then did Superman scramble up and run out.
Arkham Batman had to admit, he was feeling a little secretly thrilled. No Batman was stupid enough to face Superman
