"Morpheus! I'm here to negotiate!"
"You actually dare to..."
When Morpheus turned around, the first thing he saw was a massive sailing ship. It had been a long time since he had seen such an ancient, enormous vessel in a human dream.
Then he floated upward, intending to speak with Schiller at the bow, only to see that the deck was densely packed with Schillers.
He swallowed the rest of his sentence and changed it to, "...What do you want to discuss?"
Morpheus was not being cowardly. He simply knew very well what would happen if Schiller unloaded an entire shipful of Schillers. Whenever he imagined that scene, Morpheus felt that his retirement was drawing near.
The current Dream God Morpheus was a fairly conscientious deity. He worked hard to sustain the dreams of all intelligent beings, making dreams one of their few remaining sanctuaries. As abstract entities that formed the foundation of the DC world, they were nearly invincible within it.
Neither Schiller nor Joker could destroy the Dreamscape, much less kill Morpheus. But they did have a way to make Morpheus negotiate with them: there was no trick to it but dumping shit.
Morpheus looked at the ship full of Schillers and let out a deep sigh. Then he looked around his Dreamscape. The damage Joker had caused during his last visit had only just been repaired—and that had been the destruction caused by only one Joker.
Now, among the people Morpheus could see on Schiller's ship were the Joker from last time, another green-haired Schiller who resembled him, and several strange objects that were difficult to describe.
So Morpheus not only could not attack the ship, he also had to ensure that it landed smoothly. If it shook even once and spilled one or two of them
