Outside the laboratory windows, the moon shone bright amid sparse stars, while inside, the lab was a complete mess. Otto stood amid the debris, his two tentacles braced against the floor to lift him up. All four mechanical limbs moved like legs as he walked forward until he stood before Superior Spider-Man.
"You're Spider-Man too?" Otto lowered his gaze to the four tentacles behind Superior Spider-Man. Compared to Doctor Octopus's tentacles, the ones on Superior Spider-Man's back resembled arthropod legs more closely, with sharper tips. They looked less like tools and more like weapons.
"I'm not Spider-Man." Superior Spider-Man admitted his identity for the first time. "I'm you from a parallel universe."
Otto snorted but said nothing. He controlled his tentacles to turn around, anchored them to the ceiling, and began cleaning up the debris in the room.
Superior Spider-Man seemed provoked. "You don't believe me?" he demanded angrily. "I did better than you. I replaced Spider-Man and became the only hero in that world."
"Really? Then you're pretty impressive. Go back to your own universe. What are you doing here? Am I not busy enough already?" Otto bent down to pick up a fragment of the lab bench, a trace of regret on his face.
Every construction material in this laboratory had been top-of-the-line. Unfortunately, the materials used for Otto's mechanical tentacles were even better. The lavish combination of smelted steel and Vibranium gave the tool tentacles unparalleled hardness. Even a light strike against the lab bench would shatter it.
"Where did you send them?" Superior Spider-Man asked.
"Who do you mean?"
"Those Spider-Men."
Otto shook his head. "They left with the agent. S.H.I.E.L.D. wants to investigate the matter of crossing universes. If you go after their vehicle now, you should still be able to catch them."
As he
