In the dimly lit Research Base, uniformed researchers gradually filed out.
Dr. Dora pushed open the glass door to the office and said to the last person inside, "Betty, I'm leaving first. Give me the information on Mercury Base's orbit tomorrow morning."
"Got it, Dr. Dora." The female researcher called Betty nodded. "Also, the information on Mercury Base's patrol robots that the United Nations space commissioner sent over yesterday—I'll give it to you together tomorrow, and you can submit it."
"Thanks for your hard work." Dora smiled, closed the door, and left.
As she walked down the corridor, she brushed back her hair and shook her head, feeling as though a lifetime had passed. It seemed like only yesterday that she had betrayed the Life Foundation, sought out the reporter Eddie, and worked with him to expose the Life Foundation boss's conspiracy.
Now, Dr. Dora was a researcher in Mercury Base's oxygen circulation system project group, mainly responsible for research into human habitability within the Solar System. In just one year, she had handled three or four first-level projects. If nothing unexpected happened, she would become one of the base's main leaders within the year.
Just as she was thinking about this, her phone rang. Dora picked it up and discovered that the caller was Eddie Brock. She answered. "Hello? Mr. Eddie, what is it?"
"What?!! Someone wants to steal information about Mercury Base's orbit??!! Why? What do they want that information for?!"
"They want to launch some special device toward the Sun? Then launch it. Why come to us?... What did you say? They aren't part of the Solar System Development Plan? They want to launch it secretly???"
"Don't worry. Our technology and research materials are strictly confidential. There's absolutely no way anyone could get that information!"
