Knocking on the Door
The Chamber of Commerce cruise ship remains completely enclosed during the voyage, and passengers are prohibited from damaging any windows.
Once this barrier is breached, the state of isolation between the inside and outside will be broken, and the Miasma Plague that permeates the sea will flow in.
Passengers involved in acts of vandalism will be permanently blacklisted by the Chamber of Commerce, and those with serious offenses will be labeled criminals and sent to jail.
current.
The exterior of the cruise ship with a giant Golden Skull.
The three of them Luo Di and his companions, were climbing the golden wall in different ways, heading towards the upper level.
The biting sea breeze, carrying the final metabolic waste of True Hell, lashed against them relentlessly; the stench was several times stronger than that of the tumor-ridden inhabitants. Fortunately, everyone had come prepared, and Luo Di had already donned his Jaw Ripper.
Crawl quickly away from the window.
Their eyes, however, were fixed on the window at the bottom, on the "ancestor" who might chase them out at any moment.
But there was no chase as expected, and even the knocking inside the house seemed to have completely stopped.
"Wait a moment!"
Luo Di gestured for everyone to hang outside the hull like that.
Since the extent of the ancestral invasion is currently unknown, recklessly venturing to other areas of the ship could pose even greater dangers.
Since there was no more knocking on their cabin and nothing came chasing after them, it's safe to assume their ancestors had already left. After all, with thousands of passengers on the cruise ship, their ancestors certainly had other options for knocking.
The three of them hung outside for a full ten minutes before attempting to return to their room.
Luo Di walked at the front, and his tongue would always react if there was any danger.
Moreover, the new skull covering the brain also seemed to provide a related mental boost, allowing Luo Di to roughly perceive the situation inside the room.
After confirming everything was correct, I climbed back to my room.
Luo Di showed no change in expression even when he stepped barefoot on the broken glass.
Looking around the room,
He waited another five minutes before gesturing for all his teammates hanging outside the window to come back.
As Karlien returned to his room, he reached out and touched the broken window, preparing to repair it with the crystal within his body, when snap!
Luo Di grabbed his hand and stopped him.
"No need to repair it, just let the ocean scent flow in, the more the better."
If our ancestors had spent years immersed in the sea, they would have long since become accustomed to this smell. When they landed on a ship and entered a space free of pungent odors, their sense of smell would become incredibly acute.
Letting the scent in should have some disorienting effect. Besides, we've been hanging outside for over ten minutes, so we've picked up some of the sea smell from ourselves."
"OK."
Karlien 'her gaze towards Luo Di seemed to brighten slightly.
Agatha, however, did not participate in their conversation.
She sat on the sofa near the window, pressing her fingers hard against her temples and rubbing them vigorously, with even a thin steel tube inserted into them to help her stay awake.
It wasn't self-torture, but rather a recollection.
She tried to recall the records about her ancestors that she had seen in the Grand Monastery library. But no matter how hard she tried, she couldn't reconcile them with what was happening now.
At least in the books she had read, there was no mention of any ancestors knocking on doors. Moreover, the mere sound of knocking could somehow influence their thinking and make them prioritize everything else.
Agatha lamented, "Our first voyage has been met with an encounter with our ancestors, and on a merchant guild's luxury cruise ship, in a situation I've never even read about in any books... What kind of bad luck is this?"
Luo Di, however, didn't panic much. Instead, he quickly analyzed the situation with his clear mind:
"This ancestor who came aboard the ship may not have been particularly irritable... We are certainly not the first one he has targeted."
Our guest room is located on the middle floor, and our ancestors must have knocked on half of the doors before they came to knock on ours.
The ancestor stayed on the ship for so long, yet the cruise ship remained completely intact. Perhaps he only targeted the living people on board and didn't intend to sink the ship.
For now, all we need to think about is how to hide until our ancestors leave.
"Karlien, what are your thoughts?"
Luo Di suddenly changed the subject, but Karlien remained indifferent. "Ah, Lord Eye didn't talk to me in detail about the various ancestors. He only briefly mentioned that all ancestors are extremely dangerous, and if you encounter one, your priority should be survival. Never try to confront them head-on."
Agatha chimed in, "Generally speaking, ancestral remains floating on the ocean would cause widespread destruction once they collide with a ship, but this time it's unusually quiet. It's really strange. Perhaps it really won't cause the ship to sink. We just need to figure out how to survive, or should we just stay here, in this guest room whose Passing through the Gate?"
"Maybe if we just stay here, nothing will happen?"
"But there's a problem... should we close this door or not?"
Luo Di raised his arm and pointed to the wide-open guest room door.
This is indeed a problem.
If the door is not closed, the ancestors will capture the three people inside the house once they return.
If you choose to close the door, there is likely something left behind on that door that your ancestors touched, or in other words, the act of "closing the door" could be sensed by your ancestors once it is triggered.
With almost no clues at the moment, it's impossible to determine whether the store is closed.
Ultimately, Luo Di chose the most primitive method: flipping a coin and leaving it to luck. Even if it did cause their ancestors to return, they still had the window behind them as a possible route.
Bite!
A monk's coin was tossed into the air.
Snap!
It landed steadily on the back of my hand.
Front view, close the door!
This outcome meant that a decision still needed to be made regarding who would close the shop. However, this issue was not open to discussion, Luo Di volunteered to step forward, since this voyage was primarily his responsibility.
They approached silently, drawing near the fully open, gilded door.
Instead of closing the door with his hand, Luo Di grew a fuzzy, almost ethereal, tentacle from the back of his hand and slowly pushed it open.
The entire process was completely silent; any sound was drowned out by the undulating ocean outside the window.
Click!
The door lock is closed.
Luo Di did not let his guard down, retreating with the same stride back to the broken window to regroup with the squad.
His eyes were fixed on the crack in the door, and his ears were listening intently to the sounds.
He and his teammates would flee immediately if anything seemed amiss.
Bang bang bang~
The sound of the heart pumping was crisp and clear.
This kind of jumping can also help with timing.
One minute
Two minutes,
Five full minutes passed.
There seemed to be no creature approaching from outside the door, nor was there any knocking.
The tension in everyone's minds gradually eased.
Agatha gently pressed her lips to Luo Di's ear and whispered, "Should I reinforce the door with iron bars? That way, even if they come looking for us, we might be able to buy them a little more time."
"No... don't make any unnecessary movements, keep everything normal, make it look like the door was closed by the sea breeze."
As long as the cruise ship keeps sailing, we'll just wait. A day has passed; we only need to wait another thirty hours to reach shore, and then we'll be alive.
"Wait? Sure."
In a highly tense situation between Luo Di and Agatha
As soon as Karlien heard the word "wait," he started to feel sleepy and yawned repeatedly.
Luo Di immediately reminded him, "Karlien, if you want to sleep, just like before, put yourself in the backpack and hang on me."
"OK."
At the same time, Luo Di lifted his clothes to look at the crow hidden inside, making sure it was alright.
Continue to wait.
Continue to stare at the door.
There was still no shadow flickering, and no creature approached.
Suddenly,
Luo Di's tongue suddenly twitched, not flicked, but simply twitched.
He didn't overlook this detail and whispered a word of advice:
"Something might be coming... just a possibility! If we get any information, we'll..."
Before he could finish speaking...
Knock knock knock!
There was clearly no shadow under the door, yet a knocking sound came from the door.
It's strange that,
This time the knocking was different from the last one; it was closer, clearer, and the sound itself was different.
The reason is simple: it wasn't the guest room door that was being knocked on.
Luo Di reacted immediately, cold sweat quickly sliding down his temples.
He suddenly turned his head to look at the glass door leading to the bathroom, which was closer.
Through the partially enclosed Frosted glass, a strange silhouette could be vaguely seen pressed against the inside.
Also because of this unexpected, close-range knocking,
Everyone's thinking was affected, and they regarded "opening the door" as the most important and unwavering task. Even Luo Di's tongue seemed to be suppressed by something, unable to curl up.
