Cooperation
Deep in the theater
[Septima (Act VII)]
This is David's private office, the most expensive and most mysterious area of Evil Play Grand Theater. Without his permission, outsiders will never be able to find the entrance to this room.
Inside the room are rows of "Brain Exhibit Cabinet," each with a biological preservation function.
The brains in the display cases were not removed from the skulls of any organism, but rather cultivated "Storage Brain." They can store sensory information, and Grand Theater performances have been recorded in these brains. Memory images can be accessed by connecting to these brains.
David is currently in a screening room.
However, what he is going to watch today is not the drama stored in his brain.
It's not about movies.
The television replica made from the brain worm differs slightly in appearance from the original.
Suspended in the air by Nerve Cluster descending from the ceiling, they provide bioelectricity.
There was no fixed socket on the back of the television; instead, it was directly glued to the DVD player via Brain Tissue.
David held a disc with sulci patterns engraved on it; the cover read "The Texas Chain Saw Massacre."
Now is the most important moment.
These technological products brought from the Human World have undergone some degree of change, which may cause playback failure.
The tiny hand that sprouted from between David's eyes made a strange prayer gesture, while his greasy main arm held the disc and carefully inserted it into the projection equipment.
Sizzle~
As the internal machinery began to operate...
The television screen, which was covered in static, suddenly went black. After a short while, the movie company's logo appeared, and the movie picture gradually came into view.
Although the picture has a lot of noise and the resolution is estimated to be only 360p, the content is still quite smooth.
"Nice!"
David, watching a human-made theatrical production for the first time, completely disregarded these flaws, picked up a small stool, and began to enjoy it with a large box of snacks in his arms.
He had only watched the beginning of the video when a strange interference suddenly appeared. It wasn't a problem with the disc or the device, but rather some kind of eye that seemed to be peering at him from behind the screen.
at the same time,
Thump!
There was a knock on the office door, and not a continuous knock, just a single knock.
The office door, which clearly requires permission and application to access, was knocked on, and the sound was unusually loud, accompanied by a metallic clanging sound.
David's eyelids twitched slightly, as if he had sensed something.
However, he did not take any precautions. He simply pressed the pause button, got up, and opened the door. His sense of smell was very keen, and he caught a whiff of the familiar scent outside the door.
The door opened,
Two "humans" stood outside, their facial features identical to those of humans in the movie.
One of them leaned against the wall, using a hook to clean food from between his teeth.
The other person stared wide-eyed, still making the knocking gesture.
The arrival of the two outsiders went unnoticed by the alarm system of the Synapse City, and they even completely bypassed the security check at the Grand Theater.
David showed no surprise or wariness, but rather an air of nonchalance, as if it were the most natural thing in the world, or rather, it would be truly strange if these two could be detected by the equipment.
"It seems you came into contact with [humanity] and that strange and dangerous world before I did."
You can rest assured~ Luo Di is perfectly fine with me. I even used him to bring back a bunch of movie-related stuff. I'm watching a movie right now, want to come in and watch it together?
"I'll have someone prepare extra food."
"Can."
that's all,
Three individuals belonging to different factions were crammed into a small cubicle.
Moreover, one of them, who was skilled in metalwork and familiar with the existence of human-made equipment, even modified the television set.
With several thin, curved metal hooks inserted, the image not only lost its noise but also became much clearer.
David clapped his hands repeatedly at this gesture!
"No wonder the Will of Hell entrusted the torture chamber to you. You're truly impressive! And judging from how skilled you are, you must have already had extensive experience with Human Society, Hawke."
Six months, a year?
Hawke returned to his seat and responded with silence.
David continued rubbing his belly, excitedly saying, "No wonder you two are traveling together, it seems like it's really fun over there... Can I join you? I promise I won't tell anyone, and I've been a bit tired of working in the theater for a while now, so I trained someone who can completely take my place a few years ago."
Wait! You're here to see Luo Di, so why did you find me first?
"Could it be that your main purpose in coming here wasn't to check on Luo Di's condition, but rather to seek cooperation with me? Do you need to utilize my Spatial Methods?"
As he spoke, David thrust his sac towards Hawke, seeking a response.
The latter looked helpless and said, "Let's chat while watching the movie."
"OK."
Actor Dormitory (Luo Di's Exclusive)
A one-bedroom, one-living room design.
Karlien curled up deep inside the wall and went to sleep early, oblivious to what was about to happen inside the dormitory.
The bedroom, which was originally connected to the living room, is now covered by a strange, skin-like curtain.
It can not only block vision, but also block sound.
The person sleeping on the sofa wasn't the class monitor.
It was Luo Di.
He tossed and turned, unable to fall asleep. It had been a long time since he had experienced this. Even with the help of his newly acquired Old Spine to regulate his condition, he would still feel invigorated due to the intense fluctuations in his thoughts.
About half an hour later, Luo Di sat up abruptly; he no longer intended to sleep.
With a resolute gaze, as if harboring a certain determination to kill, he walked towards the bedroom.
But just as he reached out to lift the curtain, his arm froze in mid-air.
He ultimately lacked the courage to lift the curtain, or rather, Luo Di had already conjured up a terrifying image in his mind of what would happen if he did.
It seemed to smell some kind of blood.
It sounded like a neck being cut.
The scene behind the curtain seemed similar to my past memories.
It seemed that as soon as he pulled back the curtain, the squad leader would cut off his head, greet him with a smile.
To avoid seeing such a scene, he did not lift the curtain.
"Sigh, let's do something else instead."
If the brain worm I bring back can perfectly replicate all the equipment, and the filming of the movie can be realized here, the boss will definitely give it his full support.
If you really want to make a movie, a script is essential.
I'll try writing a script first; I've had some ideas from when I was in school.
I'll play the role of the serial killer.
"Squad leader, Agatha and Karlien are perfect for the roles of the pursuers, and we just need a few extras. I need a script that fits the spirit of hell to build the whole story."
Luo Di shifted his focus to the script, and his agitated mood finally eased a little.
I went to my desk, picked up my pen, and began to create.
Perhaps it's because of their own passion,
Perhaps this is the first time I might have the opportunity to participate in acting.
Perhaps it's an innate talent of the actor in this regard.
Luo Di quickly became engrossed in the story, rapidly building the basic framework of the script, without even noticing that the bedroom curtains had been lifted.
The woman, with her silent footsteps, had already arrived behind him.
Karlien, who was sleeping between the walls, sensed danger and opened his eyes.
He was about to use the prism's refraction to warn Mr. Di when he suddenly felt a gaze upon him. This gaze was unlike any he had ever seen from the Devil; though seemingly ordinary, it caused the crystals within his body to tremble rapidly.
A strong sense of danger overwhelmed him, forcing him to close his eyes again.
He now desperately wants to return to the lighthouse and never wants to venture out again.
