The Hunted
[City of Sin - True Death Game Company]
A man in a suit wearing a sackcloth was walking through a mansion covered in question marks.
A deep, unknown passage.
At the end was a mysterious room.
The room that only he could reach.
The cold light gave the room a stark white glow.
The room is set up like a darkroom for developing photographs. Individual photos of various "people" are hung on the wall by thin threads. Under the illumination of cold lights, fluorescent green question marks are reflected on the surface of the photos.
Among them were two brand-new photos that had just been developed.
Corresponding to the two young men,
A dark-haired, rugged man in a trench coat, with the moon as a backdrop.
A blonde, frail Turtleneck Sweater, with something seemingly floating behind her.
Their photos were marked with the same serial number on the corner.
Under the cold light, the question marks on the two photos appear yellow, but soon turn red.
After confirming that everything was correct, the question mark on the bag's head turned into a horizontal smile.
Mr. Question Mark quickly got up and headed towards the villa's lobby, where the first zombie, Jia Wen, was already waiting.
"It will probably take one or two days for you to come with me on this trip."
"OK."
However, the two who said they were going out did not leave through the front door, but instead went to another room in the villa.
[Door House]
As the name suggests,
Numerous doors of different structures are scattered throughout the area, both on the floor and the ceiling.
Different structures, different materials, different door locks.
Mr. Question Mark arrived at an iron gate painted red and took out a rubber key from his bag.
Insert into the iron gate,
Turn to open.
Buzz!
Colorful lights shone in from outside the door, accompanied by cheerful laughter.
The amusement park is right in front of us.
"Wow! What a huge amusement park! They must have put a lot of thought into it. They even used such facilities to create a fear-sharing environment."
"It's quite something that just one of the Hateful Eight managed to secure such a large venue and gather so many men."
Mr. Question Mark did not buy a ticket to enter. Instead, he used his finger to draw a question mark with a special structure on himself and Jia Wen, and then swaggered in.
Neither the ticket inspectors nor the tourists could see the two people at all.
You can enter the circus tent in the center without needing any points.
Looking at the cellar entrance that constantly exuded an aura of fear.
"True Fear? No wonder the photo is red."
When Mr. Question Mark stepped forward to try and open the Dungeon Gate, he found that he couldn't budge it at all! It was as if countless arms were pulling on the door from behind.
Even when he twisted his arm into a spring-like structure, it was still difficult to open until Jia Wen joined in.
Snap!
The Dungeon Gate, made of special materials, broke in the middle, and the strong shockwave caused the circus tent to shake violently, with the entire amusement park feeling the tremor.
Go down the stairs.
Even Mr. Question Mark slowed down, as if there was something below that could threaten him.
The television screen was showing surveillance footage of the streets and alleys of Wenslaim City.
Thick fog, identical to the one on screen, was constantly seeping out from the bottom of the television set, filling the basement and limiting visibility to less than five meters.
When Mr. Question Mark came into contact with the Thick Fog, his body stiffened slightly, but he continued walking.
Jia Wen followed behind, his expression solemn. He seemed to have seen something in the Thick Fog, something he least wanted to see.
In front of the television,
The eight participants remained "watching" in different postures, and their eyes became severely dry due to not blinking for a long time.
They were all bleeding from all seven orifices, their lives being slowly robbed away.
Mr. Question Mark showed no concern for their physical condition; instead, he took out his camera and took a group photo of them.
Sizzle!
Suddenly,
The television screen was forcibly cut off, and a piercing noise echoed in the basement. Mr. Question Mark sensed a strong sense of danger and slid in to shield Jia Wen in front of him.
The static on the TV screen quickly disappeared, and the picture stabilized again.
However, street surveillance footage from Wenslaim City is no longer displayed on it.
Instead, it's half a face, or a close-up of the mouth.
With each breath, white mist is exhaled, corresponding to the release of mist.
As their lips parted, as if to speak, the voice appeared directly in the minds of the two intruders.
Upon hearing this, Mr. Question Mark quickly bowed and apologized, then pulled Jia Wen away from the basement.
They even found a piece of glue from a question mark sign to re-glue and seal the cracked Dungeon Gate.
"Phew... No wonder they're the two people who won two championships here. Their luck is off the charts! They got this opportunity so soon after I finished my game."
If they survive, they could very well become a potential threat to me.
"Boss, shall we go back?"
"What's the point of going back? Even if we can't stay and watch the proceedings, we can still wait for the results. Jia Wen, have you ever ridden a roller coaster?"
"I've ridden in it before."
"How wonderful! It seems you had loving parents when you were still human. Come play with me, I've never really experienced it before."
"Okay, boss."
[the next day]
Time - 9:40
Weather - Fog and light rain
Location - Wenslaim City, Skull Steakhouse
A man and a woman sat facing each other in a restaurant, with two glasses of iced cola in front of them and an iron bucket on the ground.
Mia took a sip of her soda and said with a smile:
"So it seems we're enemies in reality, right? After all, given my personality and monster nature, it's impossible for me to be on good terms with humans."
And Luo Di, you are a rare 'connector'.
For some unknown reason, we two murderers with different stances got involved in this incident, and even became teammates by chance.
Oh dear, what should I do? What if I actually kill your whole family in real life?
"Oh no! Did I say something wrong?"
Luo Di rested his chin on his hands, turned his head to look at the tiny raindrops on the restaurant window, and his parents and sister who were wandering in the Thick Fog, occasionally pressing against the glass.
"It shouldn't be you."
"Why? I'm a murderer, you're a prime suspect!"
"I can roughly sense that even though my memories have been erased, I still have my deepest feelings, and I should feel annoyed or have other negative emotions towards you."
Besides, even if it really is you, that's something I'll consider after we leave this place. I'll kill you then, of course.
Mia immediately broke into a happy smile. "That's great! So, Luo Di, you're still planning to renew your contract with me? Will we continue to work together in this city?"
"Um."
After spending time together yesterday, Luo Di had already made his judgment. Mia was a very reliable teammate, and their teamwork was becoming increasingly smooth.
Moreover, given the unknown fears lurking here, cooperation is the best solution; going it alone is too dangerous.
"Where do we go next? I really don't want to go outside..."
Mia could see her aged self standing at the shop entrance, constantly licking the glass with her tongue and scratching it with her fingernails.
"Keep going down the sewers... the things down there are no longer a threat."
"Huh? How are you sure?"
"The fact that I survived is the best proof... As long as I don't disturb that death and keep quiet, I've basically figured out what's going on down there."
The sewer system connects all parts of the city, so we can move around below to avoid the Thick Fog. Let's head to the city center first.
"Okay, I believe you."
Mia was terrified of death and considered decay her natural enemy.
Just as they got up to return to the sewers through the Back Gate.
Boom!
A violent explosion came from outside the door, the source of which was estimated to be less than 200 meters away, and it seemed that someone was fighting.
Immediately afterward, something huge and heavy was rapidly approaching.
Mia and Luo Di immediately drew their weapons.
A huge figure quickly emerged from the Thick Fog.
Snap!
Instead of opening the door, they smashed the glass door of the steakhouse.
The newcomer was none other than Douglas, the burly man on the train who had a peculiar gaze toward women. One of his arms was missing, as if it had been ripped off by something.
He stumbled into the store in size 50 leather shoes, staring intently at the two people in front of him with his ugly face covered in pustules.
The mouth gradually opened.
It seems like they want to say something.
"Save..."
He'd barely uttered half a word when Douglas suddenly stopped. The words he was about to say were swallowed back down, and something else emerged from his mouth.
hand,
But it doesn't look like a hand. Although it has five fingers, the skin, color, and joints are all wrong.
Hold your upper and lower jaws together and pry open your mouth.
It seems to want to crawl out.
It seems they want to tear Douglas apart from the inside.
