"Mr. Shaya," Sebas said, bowing to Shaya.
"Why are you being so formal?" Shaya chuckled. "You weren't like this the last time we met."
"I'm just a polite person," Sebas said with an awkward laugh.
Sebas walked up from the staircase.
"So, what brings you here?" Shaya asked curiously.
"Nothing much, I just came to visit you."
As he spoke, Sebas handed the tote bag in his hand to Shaya.
"This is fine wine brewed by the God of Wine. Ever since He disappeared, His brews have become unparalleled. I spent a lot of money and pulled some strings to buy this from the Underworld."
Shaya took the tote bag and pulled out an onion-shaped glass bottle. The liquid inside shimmered like a ruby in the sunlight.
He raised his hand and opened the stopper. With a "pop," a rich aroma of wine wafted out, making his entire soul feel clear from top to bottom.
Sebas took a deep breath beside him, his expression one of intoxicated enjoyment.
Shaya put the stopper back in. "This is a very precious gift, but I'm afraid I don't have anything to match it as a return gift."
Sebas was taken aback.
Could someone like him not afford a return gift that matched this wine?
How is that possible?!
He clearly understood his own intentions now.
To be honest, before coming in, Sebas had been worried about whether Shaya would accept his gift.
After all, for someone who might have lived from the Age of Gods until now, he had likely drunk even more precious wines.
But this was already the most valuable gift he could offer.
At this moment, Shaya's reaction was the complete opposite of what he had imagined. Saying "I don't have anything to match it as a return gift" elevated the preciousness of the gift and gave him plenty of face, dispelling his anxiety.
Sebas couldn't help but sigh in his heart. Although this existence was like a true god, he possessed none of a god's arrogance.
He was like a sage of ancient times, humble, wise, sincere, and gentle.
While sighing, Sebas quickly followed up on Shaya's words.
"No, no, you don't need to."
Then, he smiled, "Thanks to you, I was recently promoted and received a bonus."
"Was it because you caught that Nightmare?" Shaya asked with interest.
"Yes," Sebas replied. "The Underworld hasn't encountered anything like this in centuries."
"Is that so..."
Shaya smiled but said nothing more.
After a pause, he looked at the wine in his hand. "Once opened, wine should be consumed quickly."
He looked at Sebas and smiled, "Shall we drink it together?"
"You're going to drink it now?" Sebas widened his eyes. "Actually, you don't need to rush. This wine won't go bad for at least a few hundred years."
"Are you supposed to admire wine instead of drinking it?" Shaya teased.
"No, that's not what I meant," Sebas couldn't help but say. "I mean, you could wait for a special good day, or when you're happy."
As soon as he finished speaking, Sebas realized.
Perhaps this wine wasn't as precious to the person in front of him as he thought.
Just as he was about to say something, he saw Shaya raise his hand, gesturing for him to look around.
"Isn't today a good day?"
Hearing this, Sebas curiously took a few steps onto the balcony. Only then did he see the panoramic view of the entire castle, a massive moving magical creation.
He then looked at the mountain scenery passing by.
A plateau covered in forests, layers of rock formations, dense jungles shrouded the mountains like mist, obscuring the valleys. The colorful autumn, the blooming spring, nature was like a careless painter who had knocked over their palette here, blending all the colors together.
Looking into the distance at the snow-capped mountains, they were pure white, as if transparent, breathtakingly beautiful.
But the most eye-catching sight was their destination, a large lake on a plateau.
The clouds seemed both far and near, not quite one or the other. Sunlight filtered through the mist onto the lake, creating a beautiful scene like an ink wash painting. Then, a gentle breeze blew, tearing through the clouds. As the water rippled, sunlight scattered across the surface, making it sparkle.
Due to his jurisdiction, Sebas saw nothing but towering city buildings and stone-paved streets day in and day out. While still beautiful, the same scenery eventually became tiresome.
He hadn't seen such natural scenery in a long time.
Shaya's voice came from the side.
"Destiny is unfathomable. Happiness and accidents, you never know when they will arrive.
Perhaps in the next moment, this wine will fall to the ground and shatter, or perhaps I will obtain even better wine.
While it is still in my hands, while it is still at its best, drink it."
For most ordinary people, life isn't filled with many good days, but for me, a warm, sunny day is enough.
When people walk the line between life and death, they always mature a little.
After being rescued from the snowfield by that old man, Shaya became quite laid-back. Losing his heart only intensified this state.
His only life goal now was to relax, let everything take its course, and enjoy the moment.
Sebas snapped back to reality and chuckled, "You're right, nothing pairs better with fine wine than beautiful scenery."
He paused, thought for a moment, and then regretfully said, "While I'd love to enjoy fine wine with you amidst such beautiful scenery, unfortunately, I still have souls to reap.
I have a lot of work today, and I need to pick up a VIP."
He then added with a self-deprecating laugh, "I suppose it's not just ordinary people; it's the same for the Grim Reaper."
Shaya asked with some curiosity, "Who is this VIP you mentioned?"
"There's no need to hide it from you."
Sebas pondered for a moment, then solemnly stated, "The fifth emperor of the Britannia Empire, Moriah Britannia."
Shaya's eyes widened slightly, but he quickly regained his composure. He fell silent and turned his head, looking towards the staircase.
As if trying to see the woman diligently sweeping downstairs through the stairwell.
