Background / History

Shaya transmigrated from his original world into a parallel universe whose history partly resembles Earth’s. After wishing for warmth and a place by a fire, he obtained a moving castle and encountered an elderly man calling himself Destiny. The old man offered Shaya succession as the next Weaver of Destiny, granting him a simplified means to perceive and weave destinies. 2 3

As part of inheriting the castle’s former owner’s destiny, Shaya became its master and entered contracts with Cassifa, a Fire Demon, and the Star Child. His heart was removed and placed within the fire; in exchange, he gained immense magical power, but lost ordinary human emotions and risked demonization whenever he used that power. 3

His first major experiment with Destiny was Heilang, a young man seeking revenge against the nobles responsible for his family’s destruction. Shaya granted him an Assassin destiny modeled after a Renaissance-era template, along with magically made concealed attire and Hidden Blades. 2 4

Shaya later became involved in the events surrounding Princess Alicia Britannia, whose curse and altered destiny could potentially serve as a catalyst for world war. Though initially detached, he repeatedly protects and accommodates her after she reaches his castle, eventually allowing her to remain as its housekeeper. 3 19 21

While investigating the revived Marquis Os, Shaya confronted a Nightmare possessing Os and overpowered it within a dream. This brought him into contact with Sebas, a Grim Reaper, and exposed him to the rules governing death, gods, demons, and the Book of the Dead. 10 13 14

After Emperor Moria entrusted his youngest son’s destiny to him, Shaya took the orphaned boy Freddy from an orphanage, renamed him Arthur, and brought him to the castle. He also altered Hart Valentine’s fate, changing Hart’s imminent death into a later death at age seventy-two. 31 37 39

As the Wilderness Witch closed in on the castle through Alicia’s curse, Shaya began preparing to relocate. He crafted Thousand Mile Flying Boots, inspected a peninsula acquired from Moria, and sought a suitable home in Saxili for Alicia and Arthur. 42 43 44

Shaya is a young, handsome man with a composed and mysterious bearing. His inherited destiny and heartless state are said to have improved his complexion, teeth, and facial harmony. 21
