Teresa stared at the petite figure lying on the ground, her gaze and tone equally cold.
In fact, this was the strategy many Claymore Warriors used when dealing with ordinary people.
In the Organization's eyes, Claymores were merely experimental biological weapons and tools, so control over them had to remain firmly in its hands.
To prevent them from forming overly close emotional bonds and relationships with ordinary people, which could lead to betrayal or escape, the Organization deliberately spread negative propaganda, smearing these beings who were clearly like "protectors" as monsters just as terrifying as Yoma.
That way, with nothing of their own, the warriors could only rely on the support provided by the Organization.
And once that public perception had taken root, humans would naturally and inevitably fear and loathe aberrations like Claymores.
Gradually, Claymores stopped hoping to be understood or accepted by ordinary people. They became colder and colder, and unless necessary, no longer interacted with human society.
Teresa displayed such an intimidating presence because she wanted Clare to understand that she was a genuine "monster," then back off in the face of the difficulty.
But unfortunately, she had clearly underestimated the powerful will and relentless persistence of the battered girl before her.
After a brief respite, Clare climbed back up from the ground and charged forward without hesitation, trying to grab Teresa's clothes.
