Background / History
Teresa was sold to the Organization and forcibly modified into a half-human, half-Yoma Claymore. Her original appearance was black hair and black eyes; after modification, she gained the golden hair and silver eyes characteristic of Claymores. The unwanted physical alterations caused by the procedure remained a lasting source of pain for her. 1270 1293
As the Organization’s No. 1, Teresa became known as the strongest warrior of her era. Her aura perception, speed, swordsmanship, and composure placed her far above other Claymores; she could defeat the warriors ranked No. 2 through No. 5 simultaneously without releasing demonic power. 1264 1280
The Organization eventually regarded her as too dangerous to leave alive. It prepared a subjugation force centered on Priscilla, whose potential was considered comparable to Teresa’s, and relied on conflict among its warriors to control them. Priscilla later exploited Teresa’s compassion to ambush and kill her. 1277 1293 1307
Allen preserved Teresa’s soul after her death. In Sky City, she underwent soul cultivation under Verena for a century of local time, while only about ten years passed outside. Her desire to reunite with and rescue Clare drove her training. 1285 1289 1293
After entering a new body, Teresa returned to the island beside Allen. She tested Clare’s strength while concealing her identity, gathered intelligence on the mainland war, protected Clare during the conflict with the Awakened Beings, and confronted Priscilla again. 1294 1295 1312 1319 1329
Appearance
Teresa is a tall, striking woman with long golden hair, silver eyes, and a faint, habitual smile. Her Claymore transformation can change her eyes to gold with vertical, beast-like pupils. 1264
- Originally had black hair and black eyes before the Organization modified her. 1293
- Usually wore the white bodysuit, hood, and greatsword associated with Claymore warriors. 1279
- Following resurrection, chose to retain golden hair and silver eyes for Clare’s sake. 1293
- Selected silver, form-fitting, lightweight armor with heavy-armor-level protection and a butterfly-shaped mask. 1293 1294
- Carries a giant Dragon-Slaying Sword after returning from Sky City. 1294
Personality
Teresa initially presents herself as indifferent, proud, and emotionally distant. She prefers the predictable routine of accepting commissions and hunting Yoma to dealing with threats she cannot easily understand or defeat. Her vigilance is extreme, shaped by betrayal and by the Organization’s control over her life. 1266 1269
Despite this detachment, she is not without compassion. Clare’s persistence gradually breaks through her defenses, and Teresa chooses to shelter, feed, and protect her. She becomes willing to oppose the Organization for Clare’s safety and later trains or protects other Claymores by giving them opponents suited to their limits. 1270 1272 1323
Other warriors often interpret Teresa’s calm smile and concealment of her strength as coldness or ruthlessness. In her era, a rumor held that it was safer to fight an Awakened Being than provoke her. 1296 1334
Abilities & Skills
Yoki Perception
Teresa possesses exceptionally refined demonic-energy perception, allowing her to identify Yoma among civilians and read opponents’ movements.
- Located Yoma in a town almost instantly and eliminated them before they could react. 1264 1267
- Could sense targets from hundreds of meters away from minimal traces of Yoki. 1279
- Reads attacks well enough to counter High-Speed Sword before it reaches maximum speed. 1279
- Her perception becomes less useful against opponents who completely suppress their aura. 1279 1336
Swordsmanship and Speed
Teresa’s swordsmanship is built on overwhelming speed, precision, and the ability to see through opponents’ attack trajectories.
- Defeated four top-ranked Claymores at once without releasing demonic power or taking a scratch. 1280
- Blocked Ine Lily’s High-Speed Sword before it could fully accelerate. 1279
- Overwhelmed Clare with pure physical ability, without Yoki or life energy. 1295
- Can move too quickly for experienced Claymores such as Milia to react. 1322
Demonic Power Control
She can release and suppress Yoki with extraordinary precision.
- Her full release changes her eyes gold and gives her vertical pupils. 1264
- Rarely needed to release demonic power even against Awakened Beings. 1277
- Was considered dangerous enough that the Organization feared she could become an “Ultra Abyss Body” if she awakened. 1277
- Can conceal her energy so thoroughly that Galadria cannot sense any demonic power from her. 1323
Soul Power
After her death, Teresa learned to exist and fight as a soul.
- Cultivated soul power for a century in Sky City. 1285 1293
- Can detach her soul from her body, leaving her physical form inert while her soul manifests separately. 1340
- Her survival and resurrection were made possible by preservation of her soul. 1285 1340
Post-Resurrection Powers
Her Sky City training and reconstructed body grant her abilities beyond conventional Claymore techniques.
- Uses life energy and is stated to possess soul energy, Haki, magic energy, and additional powers. 1299
- Can manipulate life energy into matter, creating a crude wooden chair. 1336
- Her new body is durable enough to shatter artillery-resistant reinforced glass with a light tap. 1293
- Believes she could defeat her own pre-death self with ease after her improvements in Sky City. 1337
Equipment / Weapons / Items
- Claymore — her original greatsword; Allen repaired it after examining her transformed body. 1265
- Dragon-Slaying Sword — giant sword selected from Sky City’s Treasury after her resurrection. 1294
- Silver lightweight armor — form-fitting armor with high defense and enchantments, designed not to hinder speed or agility. 1293 1294
- Soul-preserving ring — given by Allen as insurance while Teresa and Clare planned to live in seclusion. 1273
Relationships
- Clare — Teresa’s adopted companion and most important emotional bond. Clare’s persistence leads Teresa to accept and protect her; Teresa later trains, watches over, and reunites with her after resurrection. 1270 1272 1289 1319
- Allen — rescues Teresa’s soul, restores her body, provides her training and equipment, and repeatedly guides her decisions. Their relationship develops from wary encounters to cooperation and mutual understanding. 1264 1285 1293 1319
- Priscilla — former subordinate and personal enemy who killed Teresa through an ambush after gaining her sympathy. Teresa ultimately leaves Priscilla’s final defeat to Clare. 1293 1332
- Verena — Teresa’s guide in soul cultivation at Sky City. 1285 1289
- Ine Lily — former No. 2 and rival from Teresa’s era. Ine Lily recognizes Teresa’s overwhelming strength and later observes her return with shock. 1279 1296
- The Organization — Teresa’s former employer and captor; it modified her, sought to eliminate her as a threat, and remains a target of her revenge. 1270 1277 1293
