The Fall of the Terra Civil War: Vengeance Inquisition!
The Vengeance Inquisition Building in Gotham had always been one of the places where superheroes publicly appeared, as well as one of their headquarters.
However, as the elders who had founded the Inquisition—
Iron Man Tony Stark had vanished without a trace, while Thor had thrown himself wholeheartedly into hunting down a murderer.
Only a group of trusted personnel who had joined the Vengeance Inquisition in its earliest days remained inside the building.
Among them were Robert Baldwin, known as "Speedball," and Simon Williams, known as "Miracle Man."
At that moment, Miracle Man Simon, who had been standing before the enormous floor-to-ceiling window with his thick arms folded, admiring Gotham's rainy scenery, suddenly said to Baldwin, who was fiddling with a game console on the sofa:
"Speedball, something doesn't feel right. A lot of people have gathered on the street below the Inquisition Building, and they don't look like superhero fans."
"Come on, Simon. Our Inquisition is practically falling apart. Who would even care about us anymore? Didn't you hear Uncle Thor tell us to lie low for now and not go out stirring up trouble?"
At that moment, Speedball, clad in a blue hero suit over his muscular body, seemed to have his thoughts disturbed by Miracle Man Simon's words.
He irritably tossed aside the game console and muttered:
"I thought I could be a superhero for the rest of my life, enjoying the cheers and applause of countless people. I never expected the Terra Legion to be so ruthless—they revoked every authority the Vengeance Inquisition had! Do you think they want to rule the world, but are afraid troublemakers like us heroes will get in their way?"
"Even if they rule the world, fine. At least give us superheroes
