Ye Qingchen flew all the way with Huo Yuhao, and at last they saw where Shrek Academy was located. Rather than calling it an academy, it would have been more accurate to call it a city.
Shrek Academy was not located in the center of Shrek City, but in the eastern part of the city, facing the direction of the Star Dou Great Forest.
The south, west, and north gates of Shrek City were open for anyone to enter and leave freely. Only the eastern gate belonged exclusively to Shrek Academy.
Under Ye Qingchen's guidance, Huo Yuhao arrived outside the eastern city gate.
"Who would have thought that I, once only a soul, would now have a physical body? If I had been around ten thousand years ago, Shrek would not be the number one academy today." Ye Qingchen mocked himself.
"Little Yuhao, we happened to arrive just in time for the academy's new student recruitment. We can join this year's freshmen class without any trouble."
Huo Yuhao asked quietly, "Ye-dage, are you enrolling too?"
"That's right. I have reasons I must enroll. Let's go, Little Yuhao." Ye Qingchen patted Huo Yuhao's shoulder as he spoke.
At the eastern gate stood more than a dozen young men and women about their age. Each wore a fitted yellow uniform with a green emblem on the chest. These were the uniforms of Shrek Academy's second- and third-year Outer Courtyard students.
When she saw Ye Qingchen and Huo Yuhao approach, one female student's eyes lit up. She stepped forward and asked, "Are you here for the assessment?"
Ye Qingchen and Huo Yuhao nodded.
"Did you bring your letters of recommendation?"
Ye Qingchen took out two letters of recommendation and handed them over. The female student accepted them and recorded their details.
"Ye Qingchen, Martial Soul: Silver Dragon. Twelve years old. Soul Power Rank 40!"
"Huo Yuhao, Martial Soul: Spirit Eye. Eleven years old. Soul Power Rank 19."
"Hello, Senior Sister. Have we passed?" Ye Qingchen asked.
The female student rose to her feet. "Come on, I'll take you to register."
Beyond the eastern gate lay Shrek Academy itself. The academy was lush with thriving vegetation. As they walked along the broad avenue, no matter which direction they looked, they could see carefully trimmed plants.
Two hundred meters ahead stood ten enormous statues. Each was ten meters tall and carved from the hardest granite. They were statues of the original Shrek Seven Monsters and Shrek Academy's teachers.
Turning left at the statues led toward Sea God Lake. The female student introduced everything to them one by one before bringing them to Shrek Plaza.
"I know these people far better than either of you do." Ye Qingchen looked disdainfully at the statues.
Behind Shrek Plaza stood rows of tall teaching buildings. Their colors varied, mainly white, yellow, purple, and black. Farther north was another cluster of gray teaching buildings. After bringing Ye Qingchen and Huo Yuhao to register at the white teaching building and pay their tuition, they received dormitory keys, two sets of academy uniforms, and white freshman badges.
The two arrived at the white dormitory building. An elderly man sat at the entrance. He wore plain cloth robes, his eyes were cloudy, and his eyelids drooped low, making him seem frail and near the end of his life. Sunlight passed between the buildings and fell directly upon him. He lay half-reclined in a lounge chair, looking peaceful and comfortable.
"Dragon God Douluo—Mu En. One of the three great Limit Douluo of this era. But even he has reached the twilight of his years." Ye Qingchen shook his head and sighed.
"Hello, Grandpa. We're this year's new students, and we're heading to the dormitories," Huo Yuhao said respectfully.
The old man beckoned to them. "Let me see your badges and dormitory keys."
Ye Qingchen and Huo Yuhao each handed theirs over.
The old man looked at Ye Qingchen. "You're in Dormitory 211."
Then he pointed at Huo Yuhao. "You're in Dormitory 212."
"The girls' dormitories start from the fourth floor. You're not allowed up there."
Ye Qingchen put away his key and said, "Thank you, Grandpa. We'll go in now."
The old man smiled and shifted in his lounge chair. "Two polite children. That silver-haired boy is rather interesting."
While the three spoke, several new students entered the dormitory building. Clearly, they had not noticed the old man beside the building—or perhaps they had noticed him and simply did not care.
The student dormitory was a long corridor-style building, with dormitory doors lining both sides of the hallway. Each door bore a number.
When Ye Qingchen unlocked the door, a wave of stale air rushed out. He used Soul Power, and the force of Qi Roams Heaven swept up all the dust in the room, kneading it into a small ball. He tossed the ball into the trash bin, leaving the dormitory spotless.
After cleaning the room until it was immaculate, Ye Qingchen stretched and left the dormitory building for the cafeteria. There, he saw Little Yuhao eating the simplest of meals and sighed. He bought two portions of food, sat across from Huo Yuhao, and pushed one portion toward him.
Huo Yuhao shook his head. "Ye-dage!"
"I'm your big brother. If I tell you to eat, then eat. If you don't, I'll beat you up. Don't think I won't just because you're my little brother."
Huo Yuhao froze, his eyes glistening with tears as he picked up his tray and began to eat.
Ye Qingchen finished eating quickly and stood to leave. But he turned back and slipped a bag of Gold Soul Coins into Huo Yuhao's pocket. "You can't skimp on food. Little Yuhao, you're still growing. If you run out of money, come to your big brother. Your big brother lacks everything except money."
"Tch, Host, wasn't your money given to you by me? What are you showing off for?"
"System, mute yourself. What's yours is mine, and what's mine is still mine," Ye Qingchen said.
