On the island that had once been lush and green, many areas had been damaged in the earlier battle, but the surviving vegetation should not have turned yellow across such a wide area. Worse, the withering spread outward in a ring centered on Meteorite 3. No matter how one looked at it, something was seriously wrong.
And at the center of that withered ring stood Meteorite 3, which had nearly turned into a crystal and had pierced through the massive building, causing the changes on Hades Island. There was no need to think further to know that Meteorite 3 was the cause of it all.
Bian and Cruze were both certain that this extraterrestrial Meteorite III possessed some special function. At the very least, they could confirm that it was affecting the island and drawing something from it to strengthen itself, and it seemed to be doing so at no slow pace.
As for what it was drawing out, neither Bian nor Cruze dared to make a definite judgment. Vitality? Some element necessary for plant life? Or something else entirely? Whatever it was extracting, they knew they could not allow Meteorite III to continue like this, or something terrible would surely happen.
Without any communication, Cruze and Bian took the lead in attacking Meteorite III. Valcione, wreathed in red light, charged forward with its enormous sword in hand. Both the machine and its blade were enveloped in visible red currents, and in the blink of an eye it became a streak of red lightning, kicking up countless clouds of dust into a long dragon-like trail as it slashed out a vast sword beam.
The enormous sword beam struck Meteorite III, now crystallized, but it suddenly erupted with white light. White and red collided, instantly setting off massive energy fluctuations. After
