Chapter 1583: Explosion
"Uh..." Xiao Ran looked up at Luo, who had been launched wildly off course, then stared blankly as the huge fireball soared high into the sky, tracing an incomprehensible, twisting arc before crashing directly into the ruins where the Pillar of Dawn had collapsed. A massive explosion followed, as though the entire sky had been dyed red in that instant.
"Ha ha... huh?" Basak first let out a hearty, domineering laugh, but when he saw that Luo's flight path seemed different from what he had expected and that he had ultimately landed somewhere utterly random, the smile on his face instantly froze. His laughter stopped as if someone had grabbed him by the throat, ending in a strangled "huh?"
Everyone else was equally stunned by what had just happened, their faces full of bewilderment as they completely forgot what they had been doing.
Xiao Ran hurriedly pulled up the data feedback from Luo's mech. After confirming that the pilot was unharmed, he gave a light cough and asked, "Ahem, Renard, how long was this guy locked up? It shouldn't have been long since AmbriO found you in the Universal Century and brought you to this world, right?"
Renard replied airily, "He was locked up not long after I returned to Mithril. I just didn't expect such an intense reaction."
"Uh." Xiao Ran froze for a moment, apparently imagining Basak crying in a pitch-black cell while pounding on the walls. But he quickly shook his head hard, opened the comms, and ordered, "Kira, Athrun, go check on him."
