Chapter 1829: Putting on an Act (Bonus Chapter for reader slainpnier 35)
In the base hangar, Char, Lala Sin, the base's Deputy Commander Colonel, and several lackeys trailing behind him—a total of six or seven people—stood before a Tactical Fighter painted in blue camouflage.
Char looked up at the machine called the SU37, while everyone around him watched him with cold smiles.
"SU-37. I don't need to explain this machine's performance to you in too much detail, do I?" The colonel sneered at Char with a trace of disdain. "As a major, I imagine you should know this machine's capabilities quite well. This is currently the best Tactical Fighter in our military. I hope it lives up to Major Char's skills."
Char smiled as though he had not heard the Deputy Commander's sarcasm at all, then said matter-of-factly, "Of course. I know a little about this type of machine. Though against BETA, it should barely be enough for me."
"Is that so?" The colonel's expression cooled. "Your machine has been arranged. I won't stay here to accompany Major Char any longer. If you need anything, just tell the people here and they will handle it for you. I hope Major Char achieves results that satisfy you."
With that, the colonel turned and left with his people, looking as though he could not be bothered to say another word to Char. Perhaps in the colonel's eyes, Char was an arrogant fool who did not know what was good for him—both conceited and stupid.
Who knew which high-ranking family's child had come to a place like this to gild his résumé? He did not know the height of the heavens or the depth of the earth, lacked Self-Awareness, could not read the situation, and had no idea how cruel real war was.
