Chapter 428: Rendezvous

Around two squads' worth of strange units intercepted Justice Gundam as it sped toward Module 5, positioning themselves directly in front of the breach torn into the module. If Xiao Ran wanted to enter Module 5, whether through the hole behind them or otherwise, he had to destroy these units that had already begun attacking.

These strange units were called Valvraves, mass-produced machines of the Dolcia Military State. They came in piloted and unmanned variants. Generally, one piloted unit led two drones as support, forming an individual combat formation. A Combat Squad required at least two operators, meaning six Valvraves.

Valvraves were completely different from MSes. They only had the upper body of a humanoid machine, with twin Gatling guns mounted in front of their arms. Their entire lower bodies were absent, replaced by a single thruster. They truly pushed material conservation to the limit. Yet, mounted on brackets over their shoulders were two enormous shields with extremely high defensive capabilities.

These shields could form an iron wall in front of the units, and could also link together with other Valvraves to create an even larger shield wall, making them the best cover for a fleet's assault.

In Xiao Ran's eyes, Valvraves did not even qualify as MSes. Aside from their shields, their defenses were practically nonexistent. Their methods of attack were utterly monotonous. Though they possessed a degree of mobility, it was not worth mentioning at all. Put simply, Valvraves were merely mass-produced Mook Units.

Inside the cockpit, Xiao Ran deftly controlled Justice Gundam with both hands, expressionlessly watching more than a dozen units being locked by red targeting frames on the screen. He was just about to deploy the GN Dragoons from the wings on the unit's back and wipe out these mooks in one
