His meeting with Cardias had let Xiao Ran understand what the current situation had become. Even Cardias was under surveillance. What had originally been brought out to stabilize the Federation had now become a catalyst for stirring up the ambitions of certain people within it.
For some time now, Cardias had been dealing with certain people within the Federation infiltrating Anaheim Company. Even his life was in their hands. Almost none of his orders could leave Brown City, let alone allow him to contact the three members of the Moderate Faction and Commoner Faction still willing to stand with them. He also had to remain constantly vigilant against certain people's little schemes. He had borne tremendous pressure alone, yet had continued waiting for Xiao Ran's return.
It was not just Cardias. Char was the same. Time and again, he had yielded step by step in the face of the Federation's repeated betrayals. He had done everything he could to resolve the internal conflicts within New Zeon while cautiously guarding against every kind of assassination attempt. He, too, had been holding back a fire in his heart, waiting for Xiao Ran to appear again so they could officially begin their war against the Federation.
After Cardias explained the situation to Xiao Ran, Xiao Ran realized that it was indeed quite troublesome. There were simply too many problems. Trying to cut through the mess quickly would instead trigger considerable chaos. If that chaos broke out within the Earth Federation, Xiao Ran would naturally welcome it, but if it emerged within New Zeon and Anaheim, then they had to proceed carefully.
Several issues urgently needed to be resolved. The first was ensuring Char's safety. At the very least, they had to make sure nothing happened to him if he encountered an assassination attempt.
