Before long, Catherine brought the two visitors before him. One was a middle-aged man with black hair and a small mustache. The other was a Wendamilian with short blond hair and two long, star-shaped Rune sensory organs extending from his head.
After Catherine and Cruze left, Xiao Ran briefly used the computer on his desk to learn about the Wendamirian Kingdom and the Wendamilians. However, there was very little information on the Wendamirian Kingdom, and what information existed all indicated that the Wendamilians were not actually a race that posed any threat to the Unity.
The two men followed behind Catherine into Xiao Ran's office. While Xiao Ran observed them, they were also carefully studying him. In particular, when they saw that Xiao Ran looked only to be in his twenties, both of them felt a slight surprise.
They were surprised that the man who had enabled the former 25th Fleet to become independent—and made the Unity accept it without protest—was so young. He had neither three heads nor six arms and looked like nothing more than a refined gentleman, but neither of them dared underestimate Xiao Ran because of that.
After Catherine led the two men to Xiao Ran's desk and stopped, she glanced at their somewhat restrained expressions before introducing them. "Sir, these two are the envoys sent by the Wendamirian Kingdom: Ross Ayero Wendamil, a member of the Wendamirian royal family, and Belga Stone, the person in charge of the Brishigaman Cluster for the Epsilon Conglomerate."
Humans and Wendamilians looked rather alike, but Rune, their greatest difference, allowed Xiao Ran to distinguish human from Wendamilian at a glance. Naturally, he could tell their identities apart as well. He had not expected one of the envoys to be a royal family member and the other to be a
