Beginning the Harvest

The Black Hunter far surpassed ordinary Hunters in defense, strength, and speed.

Chang Wei had taken it out to test its mettle against ordinary Hunters and Black Watch soldiers. The result was that the Black Hunter effortlessly tore Hunters apart with its bare hands. It was as easy as the first time Chang Wei had fought a Hunter in Four-armed Hegemon Form.

In fact, Chang Wei had indeed passed the Four-armed Hegemon Form on to that drop of blood genetically, so this Black Hunter had four arms. Calling it a Four-armed Hunter was perfectly fitting.

Moreover, the Blacklight Virus within its body was extremely stable. It would not spread the Blacklight Virus uncontrollably unless the Four-armed Hunter itself wanted to spread it. Those infected would not become ordinary infected, but only "Pseudo Hunters."

These Hunters were much smaller than ordinary Hunters, but faster. The price was reduced strength and defense, making them essentially degraded versions of Hunters.

That might have looked like a flaw, but how could such Blacklight creatures, evolved specifically to be weaponized, possibly be flawed?

First, these Degenerate Hunters ensured quality. No matter how they spread, the Blacklight Virus would not continue to degrade. Degenerate Hunters could only infect others into Degenerate Hunters, and their weakness was only relative to Hunters. In reality, they far exceeded infected and powerful infected like Fatty.

Second, they reduced the energy cost of production. Without the need for such powerful defense and strength, the energy and Blacklight Virus needed to create one Hunter could be used to create ten Degenerate Hunters.

Degenerate Hunters only needed enhanced speed. As long as enemies could not lock onto or attack them, that was enough. After all, their primary duties were "speed," "spread," and "stability"—spreading the Blacklight Virus at the fastest possible rate and infecting an entire city!

Just like Xenomorphs, as long as there was enough flesh and blood, they could be mass-produced!

This was an ability Chang Wei had evolved specifically in case he encountered enemies like swarms in the future. It could even be said that I am the swarm.

Finally, Degenerate Hunters were essentially individual Gene Point storage tanks. Once they had harvested and plundered enough life, Chang Wei could reclaim them at the fastest speed.

After the Four-armed Hunter came the "Death Hunter," which possessed the bonuses of several of Chang Wei's forms and even had the Acid Ability.

Chang Wei did not intend to give away his electrical ability. If Alex Mercer absorbed it and gained that ability, it would be quite troublesome for him. In comparison, while the Acid Ability was also powerful, Chang Wei had a specially evolved shell and was not afraid of strong acid at all.

The Death Hunter was roughly the same size as the Four-armed Hunter, but its color was vastly different. Its body surface was a dripping scarlet. To release acid mist from its body surface, it naturally did not need a thick shell. Its purpose was to create death. Whenever Chang Wei determined that Gene Points could not be reclaimed, he would send out the Death Hunter.
