The Ocean's Treasure Trove

Chang Wei couldn't make sense of it. By all logic, his Blacklight Virus organisms should have been extremely alluring, especially to a prototype.

Yet The Jester Jason had actually resisted touching them. It didn't know he had planted traps, electrical signal transmissions, trigger mechanisms, and tracking pheromones inside. Why hadn't it touched them?

Moreover, to prevent his Blacklight Virus organisms from having been switched out and disguised as The Jester Jason under his command, Chang Wei tirelessly crossed the globe every day, reclaiming all his Blacklight Virus organisms before releasing fresh ones.

He knew perfectly well whether their numbers had decreased. His brain was highly developed now.

And yet, he found nothing.

The area ten thousand meters underground had been almost completely turned over. Chang Wei turned his gaze toward the ocean.

The sea was simply too vast.

Of the tens of thousands of marine species humanity had discovered so far, they might account for less than ten percent of all ocean life.

Don't assume the remaining ninety-plus percent were all tiny creatures hiding in corners. Just in recent years, humanity had discovered a new species of whale—a massive creature over ten meters long.

From that alone, one could infer just how vast the variety of life in the ocean was. Every newly discovered species reshaped humanity's understanding.

To the Blacklight Virus, the ocean was a treasure trove!

If The Jester Jason had hidden in the sea...

Humans, organisms, every fluctuation, pheromone, scent, and so on—nothing could escape Chang Wei's notice. Human tracking science had also given him formidable trace-analysis and pursuit abilities. Combined with his highly developed brain's speed and capacity for thought, one glance was enough for him to tell what had left what traces. He could even construct models in his mind.

"But he has every ability I have. The Blacklight Virus's most troublesome trait is its ability to evolve and learn. Tracking science isn't exactly rare knowledge either. Absorb some professor of tracking science, and you can instantly become a master of the field. Hiding your traces would be just as easy... Interesting. Why is he so smart?"

Everything Chang Wei had came from his imagination. In particular, after Hunter had devoured several intelligent people and absorbed their memories, he learned their ways of thinking and developed even more abilities. Still, he was limited, struggling to digest this vast amount of information and knowledge.

It might take thousands, or even tens of thousands, of years to fully digest all that information and make it his own.

He didn't think The Jester Jason could have realized this. Ways of thinking, speed of thought, and capacity for thought determined whether someone was brilliant or mediocre. Researchers were undoubtedly the finest examples of this. It was innate, just like how there was only one Einstein while ordinary people came by the truckload.

Even Chang Wei, who didn't think of himself as a genius at all, found it so difficult to digest. How could The Jester Jason, who had been controlled since birth and had only recently escaped, manage it?

He hadn't even systematically studied or developed his own thinking ability and way of thinking!

Was he brute-forcing the memories?

Chang Wei felt like his brain was about to explode from doing that.

As he had the Blacklight Virus begin spreading across the sea, Chang Wei pondered. Then, while searching through his memories, he formed a vague guess.

Dissociative identity disorder—or rather, personality simulation and creation?

Since he wasn't intelligent, and since digesting memories was so difficult for him, what if he let the original owners of those memories form personalities and think in his place?

Of course, Chang Wei would never dare play around like that. He was afraid it would spiral out of control. But The Jester Jason...

It was still the same question: Who was I? Who was he? Who were you?

Philosophy, psychology, and all those idealist definitions were enough to drive a person mad. Not to mention Chang Wei had read Wang Yangming's School of Mind out of interest.

If his guess was correct, then he might be facing a monster.

And there might be more than one The Jester Jason.

Covering the sky had taken a month, but completely covering the ocean took only half a month. Chang Wei had been constantly evolving, after all. Not to mention his subordinates had found all sorts of human nuclear power plants, Nuclear Fuel, and nuclear bombs. Chang Wei no longer lacked energy, allowing the Blacklight Virus covering layer to grow far faster.

At the same time, he infected sharks and killer whales, using their genes to create an aquatic Hunter that possessed the strengths of both species. It began searching on a massive scale.

But Chang Wei hadn't expected The Jester Jason to come knocking the moment he began making his move.

"So impatient?"

Chang Wei fell into thought. Was it afraid that he would obtain the ocean's treasure trove as well?

It felt powerful. His blood began to boil.

To be safe, Chang Wei directly entered his Guyver Armor state, covering his entire body in even stronger armor. Then, behind the scenes, he quietly sent a portion of the Blacklight Virus underground.

Moments later, the figure within Chang Wei's senses appeared before him at supersonic speed, accompanied by the deafening warning issued by countless speck-sized Blacklight Virus particles floating in the air.
